Services Provided at Denver Chiropractic, LLC. ______________________________________________________________ Comprehensive Exams Dr. Artichoker conducts a thorough and professional exam including:
Spinal Manipulation Therapy After a detailed biomechanical exam, a gentle adjustment may be performed to your spine. The main adjustive technique that Dr. Artichoker uses is "Diversified Technique" along with other techniques. The adjustment decreases pain, improves healing time, relaxes muscles, and improves range of motion. ______________________________________________________________ Extremity adjustments Many people do not realize that chiropractors can also adjust ribs, collar bones, shoulder blades, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Adjusting non-spinal joints plays an important role in proper joint function. ______________________________________________________________ Electrical Stimulation Therapy Dr. Artichoker is specially licensed in Physiotherapy from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has state licensure to perform electrotherapy. Some of the modalities offered are interferential current, high volt, iontophoresis, ultrasound, moist heat, cryotherapy, pre-mod, russian stim, and microcurrrent. ______________________________________________________________ Ultrasound Dr. ______________________________________________________________ Graston Technique® Is a unique approach to aide the chronic or acute problomatic area. Tools are used to help restructure the tissue along the normal planes of stress. When injury occurs, the healing process lays down scar tissue in a somewhat haphazard fashion, the tools help redesign the tissue structure to improve its function. ______________________________________________________________ Myofascial Release Technique Involves a variety of sub-techniques that impose force directed on the fascia of the body. The fascia, an interpenetrating and surrounding tissue exerts its complex influence on the function of the body. This technique helps to reduce muscle spasm, and fascial restrictions that prevent the tissue's normal range of motion. ______________________________________________________________ Kinesiotaping Perhaps you recently watched some of the olympic athletes on TV wearing colored tape. The tape offers many uses including: limit swelling, limit pain, improve lymphatic drainage (picture to the right: shows bruise healing in progress, the areas where tape was applied show increase drainage and thus faster recovery time), inhibit muscles, activate muscles, and improve proprioception. ______________________________________________________________ Muscle Energy Techniques A concept developed by Fred Mitchell, D.O. that involves forces generated by the patient and doctor in opposing directions. The goal is to restore proper joint mechanics, proper muscle output tension, and thus improving the position and tone of the muscle and its surrounding tissues. ______________________________________________________________ Trigger point therapy Janet Travell, a medical doctor to John F. Kennedy, was the first to use the term trigger point. Trigger points are tender nodules in the muscle, and with specific techniques such as, NIMMO, Ischemic compression, PIR, , and others the trigger point can be eliminated. Trigger points cause local pain, and pain at distant sites form the trigger point, as illustrated from Travell's work. ______________________________________________________________ Orthotics With the vast array of shoe choices, and many of those choices based on fashion trends, it is no wonder why people have problems with their feet. Take for example, Chinese foot binding, a tradition to form the foot for cosmetic purposes, but leaving the foot barely functional. The foot and ankle contain 28 bones with 55 articulations. Dr. Artichoker has received special training for adjusting the foot and to specifically find the right orthotic that meets your needs. ______________________________________________________________ Cupping Cupping is an ancient Chinese practice where glass cups are applied to different parts of the body. The air inside the glass cups are removed either by suction or heat. The difference in air pressure allows the skin, muslce, and fascia layers to be "sucked" into the glass jar. The suction stimulates blood flow to the area, which allows the healing process to take place. Cupping is a great therapy to add to a treatment plan, especially with chronic pain type syndromes. ______________________________________________________________ Core stabilization exercises These exercises are designed to decrease compressive forces on the spine, and help you develop quality motor control of your core to help protect your back. The exercises are excellent for the young, the old, and the professional athlete. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is a contributory factor to a host of diseases. Let me help you wade through the complex marketing to give you, your family, and your friends healthy eating options. ______________________________________________________________ Workplace Ergonomic Evaluation Just like choosing a good mattress where you will spend almost a 1/3 of your life, it is also just as important to consider work place factor since approximately another 1/3 of your life will be spent of the job. Carpal tunnel syndrome is not the only disorder that you risk developing at the work place. Two recent studies of insurance claims show that the combined cost of cumulative trauma disorders, such as repetitive motion injuries and low back pain, is over 11.5 billion annually. Good workplace ergonomics can save companies thousands of dollars. ______________________________________________________________ On-site chiropractic treatment - Backstage chiropractic, Sporting Events, and Corporate Care Please contact Denver Chiropractic, LLC if you would like Dr. Artichoker to come and treat at your site, whether it is a sporting event, backstage, or at your business, we would be more than happy to be flexible with your schedule .
